Salvation of Erotic Waves is an immersive VR ritual for five individuals in a physical installation. The spectators are introduced to a broader interpretation of sexuality and human relationships inspired by touch-based structures in Tantra, Ritual Play and Tao. These practices use sexual energy for spiritual expansion and healing of psychological traumas. This aspect is unknown in western sexuality. The knowledge and experience from the consent policy of tantra and the erotic art games are used to deal with the emotional and sexual themes in this project in a safe way.

The participants are initiated into the world of Salvation or Erotic Waves by a facilitator. In the installation they leave behind their daily reality, put on virtual reality glasses and are guided to discover for themselves what intimacy means to them.  Within the virtual world spatial representations (volumetric video) of contemporary practitioners perform touch-based rituals. After this the participants can try these rituals. This happens on the basis of accessible exercises with touching hands and the expression of emotions through voice and movement. 

In Salvation of Erotic Waves are installation art, rituals with contemporary symbolism, VR and touch-based rituals brought together. Through an interdisciplinary approach we give the participants a mind-expanding and healing experience. We want to offer a safe way to broaden their consciousness and perception of sexuality.
